Dear Friends and Partners,
Because of your support and partnership and the hard work of our team in Haiti we are providing relief, comfort, support and hope to the people of Haiti. Aftershocks continue in Haiti this week with less frequency. However, people are still afraid to sleep inside of buildings so tents, tarps and mosquito nets are essential relief items.
We have distributed food to more than 500 families in Port-au-Prince. We are receiving supplies from several routes and sources (including USAID) and we are sharing with several organizations that are in need of supplies to help meet the needs of the people.
Two groups flew to Haiti this week via corporate jet donated by Amway International. Ginny Andrews, along with a team from Grand Rapids, Michigan, are conducting clinics at three different sites including Emmanuel Christian Church & School.
One of the team members reports “Today six of us rode in the back of the supply truck to the clinic. Usually when we drive through Port, the people could care less that you were there. Today was different in Port … people were waving and smiling at us. I know that being here is important work, but knowing that the people in Port have opened their hearts towards us is the greatest feeling in the world.” Ginny reports that we have plenty of potable water on site. More than 300 were seen at the clinic on Wednesday. Demolition of the damaged third floor of the clinic is taking place today. Most of the equipment and supplies stored there are undamaged!
Our first sea container was packed and shipped from Centralia, IL this week. It should arrive in about 3 weeks. There is information on our website if you want to collect high priority items or donate towards the need. Please direct all correspondence regarding the donation, collection and shipping of goods to Todd Beavers @ tbeavers12@gmail.com.
In partnership with Feeding Children Worldwide-Central Illinois we can get prepackaged meals for about .35 each. A $100 donation will provide more than 350 meals. We are purchasing 8,000 of these meals already. More are available if you know someone who wants to make a donation to purchase food.
There were 17 decisions for Christ last Sunday in Jacmel. Tonight RoRo & Ginny will be showing the Jesus Film in one of the tent refugee cities.
Please continue to pray and keep this need in front of people. This will be a marathon, not a sprint.
